Incident Overview
Reporting indicates that the, ELKA ARISTOTLE, located within Lome anchorage area, Togo, has been boarded. According to reporting, 3 unidentified armed men have boarded the tanker possibly while she was engaged in ship to ship operations. A firefight is understood to have taken place between the Togolese naval detachment embarked to provide security for the vessel, and the perpetrators. Reporting has indicated that one navy personnel is reported as having sustained a bullet related injury to the leg. Latest reporting confirms four personnel have been kidnapped.
